It's a fact: in animal shelters, caring for orphaned kittens is not uncommon. However, how many of us are truly prepared? Often, these young animals are regarded and treated as "miniature" adults. We tend to apply the same methods and logic to them, even though they are vastly different! This is true not only from a physiological standpoint but also in terms of the therapeutic approaches used in our facilities. The good news is that in recent years, several scientific publications have shed new light on our neonatal care practices for felines.This presentation will explore how these new insights can be incorporated into our daily routines to optimize the health of newborn kittens and enhance their survival chances.
