FAQ
I'm working/ATTENDING the CFA show upstairs. Can I come downstairs to the acatemy just to check it out or attend one session?
Acatemy registration grants access to all events in the building but CFA registration only grants access to the CFA show.
Our area is badge-restricted so you'll need to register to access to our sessions, including the United Spay Alliance conference, Kitten College Connection, the lounge, and all activities. Unfortunately, exceptions quickly become unmanageable for our staff so we're inflexible on the need for an official badge.
Your badge will be printed on-site and security will let you through. If possible, please register in advance.
where is all the basic info like parking?
If the Hotel and Venue page doesn't have what you're looking for, our conference app has everything you need, conveniently organized on the home screen. You'll need to be a registered attendee to gain access to the app. Once you've registered, you'll receive an email with an access code. Download Whova and log in using the same email you registered with.
Will there be a live stream of sessions?
Yes/maybe! Speakers are free to stream or record their sessions and make them available during or after the conference. If there's one you've got your eye on, reach out to the speaker directly to see what their plans are.
As much as we wanted to offer replays as a feature of the conference, the necessary AV & digital infrastructure would raise ticket prices in a way we didn't find reasonable.
Since we're using the Whova app instead of a printed program, speakers also have the option to upload their slides and handouts for registrants to access later.
United Spay Alliance sessions will be available to livestream at home and for replay later. Use the code ACATEMY (case sensitive) for early bird pricing regardless of when you register.
Are the discounted hotel rooms gone?
If our group rate link is saying the rooms are gone, please email thecathustler@gmail.com so more can be added.
If you're having an issue adding a night to your stay, it may be because it's outside or designated group rate days and their automated system doesn't know how to deal with that. Please call Wyndham's main customer service line to get what you need. 1 (800) 466-1589
Why is the official hotel choice not pet-friendly?
Price and facilities. Keeping your participation affordable is a priority and there are few options in the area for hotels with entertaining space like a restaurant. By using the Wyndham, we are able to accommodate limited travel budgets while providing an on-site after-hour social hub.
If your are bringing a cat, La Quinta is directly across the street (walkable for afterparties) and can accommodate. We did not use them as our primary due to price.
are you accepting vendors?
Exhibit space in the Acatemy area is limited to participating sponsors, but you can find over 100 cat-tastic vendors upstairs at the CFA International Cat Show &Expo!
Do you need volunteers?
Yes! Send a note to Julia at thecathustler@gmail.com to check in about current staffing needs.
can i buy a swag bag?
Maybe! Extras usually go to local rescues and we don't sell donated items, but the reusable totes themselves may be available at some point.
Will there be vegetarian/vegan options?
Yes! The IX Center has a large food court with several kiosks that offer options.
